GET TO KNOW

Two words summarize the mission of UPN:

  • Resourcing
  • Relationships
To build strong churches we need strong, encouraged pastors and spiritual leaders.
Strength and encouragement in ministry comes from access to good resources and meaningful relationships.

There are many pastors and spiritual leaders who long for more meaningful connections with others of like mind, vision and passion –– a spiritual family to belong to and grow with over time.

This is what UPN is all about.  Our desire is to develop a connecting point for pastors and spiritual leaders that will:

  • Provide an atmosphere for encouraging healthy, strong, enduring and enriching ministry relationships.
  • Encourage personal and ministry skill development.
  • Provide a forum for interaction, inspiration, best practices and ideas exchange.
  • Make available helpful resources for personal and ministry growth.
  • Allow pastors and spiritual leaders to unite for greater impact –– to be a part of something bigger than we can be alone.
  • We believe that the quality and strength of any organization is determined not only by its goals, but also by its spirit and values.

The core values of UPN are:

  • Integrity, authenticity and humility.
  • Loving and real relationships –– a sense of family and community.
  • Life and ministry balance.
  • Life and ministry excellence and relevance.
  • Evangelism and missions –– a commitment to the Great Commission.

Statements of Faith:

  • The Bible is the infallible Word of God and shows us the one true God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus is the virgin-born Son of God, Saviour and Lord.  He is the only way to God the Father.
  • We are born as sinners in need of salvation through Christ.
  • Jesus Christ died on the cross and was raised from the dead to pay for our sins and give us new life.
  • We receive salvation by grace through faith in Jesus, not by any works or goodness on our part.
  • The Holy Spirit makes us alive in Christ, dwells in every believer and unites us as members of the body of Christ, His church, so that we can serve Him together until He comes again to reign forever.
  • We are called to live our lives under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, pursuing a life of holiness and love and being daily conformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ.

To facilitate the goals of UPN, we are considering the possibility of the following activities, resources and events:

  • An annual gathering.
  • Regional fellowships and gatherings.
  • Availability of ministry consultation.
  • Provision of helpful ministry resources.

It is also important to understand what UPN is not.  It is not:

  • A replacement for ministry and spiritual covering.
  • A denomination.
  • An ordination organization.

How to be involved?

  • Affirm the statement of faith.
  • Affirm the goals and values of UPN.
  • Attend the annual gathering.
  • Contribute to the costs of the organization.
